How is CBD Vape Used
The simple answer is… you start off with a tasty CBD Vape juice, you pour it into your favorite vaping device, tank, or pod-style system, turn the power on, push the power button, and take a draw. Sit back and relax. If you’re new to vaping CBD in general, you probably want to get started with the device you’re going to use.
Let’s dive in and talk about the available vape devices you can use to start vaping CBD.
What Device Do I Need to Start Vaping CBD?
Most devices out there today are suitable to vape CBD so long as you can control the wattage, or are preset at a wattage that is favorable to vaping CBD (we’ll get to this shortly).
Here are the key components you want to take into consideration, the tank, pod, (which holds the oil), and the heating element (the coil that heats up to produce vapor), choosing a tank, pod-style, or disposable vape-style system.
Let’s break down the pros and cons of each one, as choosing the right device is for your best CBD vaping experience.
POD Style Vape Devices:
Pros:
- POD systems are known for their user-friendly design, making them exceptionally easy to use for beginners. They offer a convenient, and portable solution for vaping CBD, often with a simple plug-and-play setup that requires minimal maintenance.
- The compactness of POD devices ensures discretion and ease of use, with pre-filled or refillable options that cater to on-the-go lifestyles, allowing you to enjoy CBD virtually anywhere.
- Another powerful pro to Pod devices is their easy-to-use, no-fuss pods, which can simply be swapped out once the coil burns out, eliminating the hassle of coil maintenance. This convenient design is perfect for those who prioritize efficiency and ease, allowing for a quick return to your vaping routine without having to mess with complicated coils from other vaping systems.
Cons:
- They may offer less customization in terms of power settings and airflow adjustments, which can limit your ability to tailor your vaping experience to personal preferences.
Recommended for: Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced Users
Type: Battery and Pod style
Disposable Tank (Pod): Yes / No (All depends on the system)
Replaceable Coil: Yes / No (All depends on the system)
Refillable: Yes / No (All depends on the system)
Battery Life: Medium / High
Tank Style Vape Devices:
Pros:
- Tank systems are known for their robust design, offering a larger e-juice capacity and longer battery life, which translates to extended vaping sessions and less frequent need for refills and recharges.
- These devices provide greater control over your CBD vaping experience, with adjustable settings like temperature and airflow, allowing for a more personalized CBD vaping experience and the ability to fine-tune vapor production and flavor intensity.
Cons:
- Tank systems tend to be bulkier, which may reduce the convenience factor and make them less discreet compared to POD systems.
- They often require a higher level of vaping knowledge to operate and maintain, which might pose a challenge for those new to vaping or those who prefer a more straightforward experience.
Recommended for: Intermediate / Advanced Users
Type: Battery and Tank style
Disposable Tank: No
Replaceable Coil: Yes
Refillable: Yes
Battery Life: High
Disposable CBD Vape Pen Devices:
Pros:
- Disposable CBD vape pens offer maximum convenience and simplicity, perfect for those new to vaping or seeking a hassle-free experience. There’s no need for refilling, powering on, or figuring out how to use them, simply open the box and take your first pull, this makes them ideal for on-the-go use or as an introduction to CBD vaping.
- Formulations for disposable CBD vape pens have more CBD per ML compared to 30ml CBD Vape Juices available in the market.
- They are incredibly discreet and portable, allowing users to enjoy CBD without the bulk or maintenance of more complex systems.
Cons:
- While convenient, Disposables have a limited lifespan, and they offer limited options in terms of CBD strengths. Which can restrict a user’s ability to personalize their vaping experience.
- They are more expensive per ML compared to a CBD Vape Juice bottle.

So the question is, which one is best for you?
POD-style devices and Disposable Vape Pens offer simplicity and portability, ideal if you are new to vaping CBD or seeking convenience, while tank-style devices are suited for those who desire a more customizable vaping experience and longer vaping sessions.
The choice between the two will depend on your personal vaping preferences, how frequently you intend to use the device, and the level of customization you desire from your CBD vaping experience.
Now that leads us to the next question…

What wattage to vape CBD e-juice?
Some vape devices have an option to select how much wattage you want going to the coil.
The higher the wattage >, the hotter the coil gets >, the more vapor it produces.
However, with higher wattage, you run the risk of damaging and burning the coil (you’ll know when you get a burnt taste).
So stay low, 12 watts is a good starting point. If you’re not getting the vapor production you’re looking for, then bump it up 1 watt at a time. If you’re getting into the 20’s tread lightly, you could end up burning your coil, and you’ll know by the nasty taste.
For vaping CBD, don’t go anywhere past 50 watts, you risk completely vaporizing the CBD molecules, and it won’t be effective, meaning you won’t feel anything.
The Vape oil in my tank is starting to taste funky! What do I do?
It’s time for a new coil. They don’t last forever, and you may even see yourself replacing the coil 2-3 times per bottle of CBD Vape. So just go ahead and replace the coil and start fresh. Trust us when we say, “Your taste buds will thank you”.
How does a CBD Vape work?
Let’s break down the components of a CBD Pen so you can get a better understanding of how these devices work in general.
- Tip – You put your lips to the mouthpiece and inhale.
- Tank / Pod – The tank or pod holds the oil that is poured into it.
– The tank or pod contains a coil (heating element), an absorbent material (cotton or silica) that sits inside the coil and gets saturated with the CBD vape juice - Wick – The absorbent material that keeps saturated with CBD vape juice. The coil heats the wick and produces vapor.
- Coil – The heating element that’s powered by the battery and vaporizes the e-juice that’s on the wick.
- CBD Vape Juice – The good stuff.
- Vent – When you’re taking a puff, the vent helps draw in the vapor to your mouth. No vent equals no draw.
- Battery – Usually comprises the bulk of the device. The battery holds the energy to light up the coil.

What is CBD Vape?
CBD Vape is an e-juice specifically formulated to be used in an electronic device known as a vape pen or a vape mod, or a pod system like our CBD Vape Starter Kit.
The most common CBD Vape Juices (as well as our very own), consist of the following ingredients.
- CBD(Cannabidiol) Isolate – CBD isolate is the purest form of cannabidiol, a crystalline powder that strips away all other cannabinoids and plant matter, leaving behind nothing but pure CBD. It’s an ideal choice for individuals looking for the singular benefits of CBD without the influence of other hemp plant compounds.
- Food-grade natural and artificial flavorings – Natural flavorings, derived from plant and fruit extracts, offer a cleaner and often more authentic taste profile that gives you an experience similar to vaping cannabis. Meanwhile, In the crafting of e-juices, artificial flavorings expand the palette of flavors available, providing a diverse range of taste sensations that enhance your pleasure of vaping.
- VG (Vegetable Glycerin) – VG’s clear, odorless liquid is derived from plant oils and is known for its viscous texture and slightly sweet taste. VG is a popular choice in e-juice formulations for its ability to produce a less harsh throat hit compared to Propylene Glycol (PG). Additionally, it’s a humectant, which means it helps to retain moisture, contributing to the overall mouthfeel of the vapor. Its plant-based origin and non-toxic nature make VG a suitable option as part of a carrier for CBD vape juices.
- PG (Propylene Glycol) – PG is a key ingredient commonly found alongside VG in the formulation of e-juices. At Avida CBD, we appreciate PG for its excellent carrier properties, which enhance the delivery of flavors and CBD in vaping products. This colorless, odorless liquid with a faintly sweet taste is known for producing a stronger throat hit, akin to the sensation one gets from smoking tobacco, which many vapers find satisfying. Its lower viscosity compared to VG allows for easier wicking in vape devices, preventing build-up and maintaining the integrity of the coils. PG’s hygroscopic nature also helps in keeping the e-juice moist, ensuring a consistent vape experience. Its widespread use in various industries attests to its recognized safety profile, making it a trusted component in the vaping community.
